HARTFORD, CT – After splitting a tri-match on Saturday, the Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball team was downed at non-conference opponent Trinity (CT) College, 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-9), on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Colonials fell to 3-7 overall, while the Bantams improved to 3-1.
Freshman Ali Brochu led the way for the Colonials with 10 kills and a .240 hitting percentage.
Jenna Skerritt registered 26 assists and 14 digs for WestConn.
Jenna Pisano led the Colonials with 16 digs in the loss.
"With the exception of the third set, we held the advantage once again in the high-teens but continue to have trouble closing teams out," stated WestConn head coach Don Ferguson after the setback.
The Colonials return to action on Saturday when they host a tri-match with league nemesis University of Southern Maine and non-conference foe Kean University. The start time between WestConn and the Huskies is slated for noon. USM and Kean follow at 2 pm and the days events wrap up around 4 pm when the Colonials face the Cougars.
