Men's Tennis Falls to Rutgers-Newark

DANBURY, CT - The WestConn men's tennis team dropped to 4-5 overall after falling to visiting non-league foe Rutgers-Newark, 8-1, on Friday at The Westside Courts. Senior Jason Hipona (Orange, CT) tallied the lone win for the Colonials in singles play as he downed his opponent, 7-5, 6-1.

"Jason's match went down to the wire in the first set. The momentum shifted after that and he didn't make many mistakes afterward," said Colonials head coach Shawn Stillman.

WestConn returns to action against visiting conference foe Bridgewater State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
