    DANBURY, CT – Despite a team-high four goals from sophomore midfielder John Ward (Mahopac, NY), the Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team suffered a heartbreaking 11-10 overtime loss to visiting Little East Conference foe UMass-Dartmouth on Friday afternoon. The Colonials held a 7-1 lead in the second quarter, but the Corsairs chipped away at the advantage. In the extra session, sophomore attackman Donovan Prozinski (Ashland, MA) faked a righty shot, took a pair of steps to his right and fired a bounce shot into the back of the net from eight yards away, clinching the victory and sending UMass-Dartmouth into the postseason.

    KEENE, NH – After winning its last pair of league matchups over Eastern Connecticut and Salem State, the Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team was downed at Little East Conference opponent Keene State, 19-4, on Tuesday night. With the loss, the Colonials slipped to 6-8 overall and 2-4 in league play, while the Owls improved to 10-4 and 7-0.

    DANBURY, CT – Junior attackman Robert Swensen (Danbury, CT) and sophomore middie Ryan Reuling (Groton, CT) each notched four goals, while rookie Riley Graham (Oceanside, NY) chipped in with a scoring strike and four assists as the Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team coasted to a 17-2 win over visiting Little East Conference opponent Salem State University on Saturday afternoon at The Westside Athletic Complex. With the victory, the Colonials improved to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the Vikings dropped to 3-10 and 0-5.

    DANBURY, CT – Sophomores Eric Caldwell (East Moriches, NY) and Ryan Reuling (Groton, CT) each netted a game-high four goals, while classmate Perry Cassidy (East Setauket, NY) finished with 19 saves as the Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team edged visiting Little East Conference archrival Eastern Connecticut, 10-7, on Wednesday night at The Westside Athletic Complex. With the win, the Colonials improved to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in league play, while the Warriors dropped to 6-6 and 2-2.

    GORHAM, ME – Despite a trio of hat tricks from sophomores Eric Caldwell (East Moriches, NY), Christian Sparacino (Manorville, NY), and Ryan Reuling (Groton, CT), the Western Connecticut State University men’s lacrosse team was stunned at Little East Conference nemesis Southern Maine, 13-11, on Saturday afternoon. The visitors held a 9-8 lead heading into the fourth quarter but the hosts rallied to capture the win. With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in league play, while the Huskies improved to 5-6 and 2-1.
