DANBURY, CT - Eric Caldwell (East Moriches, NY) and John Foristall (Danbury, CT) each scored four goals in the Western Connecticut State University men's lacrosse 16-7 victory over visiting Regis College at The Westside Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Robert Swensen (Danbury, CT) recorded a hat-trick for the winners.
The Colonials raced out to a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes of the second quarter. Swensen capped off the early barrage with his fifth goal of the year at the 13:39 mark of the second stanza.
Calvin Brault (Colchester, VT) scored an unassisted goal for the Pride at the midway point of the period to cut his teams deficit to 7-3. They would not get closer than four goals the rest of the way.

Five other WestConn players notched a goal on Saturday. Cullen Roberts (Somers, CT), Johnnie Ward (Mahopac, NY), Sean Tynan (Somers, CT), Ryan Reuling (Groton, CT) and Richard Pitman (Southbury, CT) found the net for the winners.
"We had an opportunity to finally get back into game mode after being penned up inside practicing all week," said second-year head coach Ryan Cavanagh. "Every healthy player was able to see some action today and we did some good things offensively today. Our middies did a great job pushing the ball in transition, including Cullen (Roberts) who owned the middle of the field as our LSM."
D. J. Barrile (Medford, MA) withstood 55 shots in the frigid weather and wound up with 21 saves for Regis.
WestConn travels to Rosemont College in Pennsylvania for a non-league game on Saturday, March 25. Face off with the Ravens is set for 3:00 pm.
