    Bynum Notches Game-High 24 Points as Men's Basketball Falls to Eastern, 95-77 DANBURY, CT - Despite a game-high 24 points from junior guard Bobby Bynum (New Haven, CT), the Western men's basketball team fell to visiting LEC cross-state rival Eastern, 95-77, Wednesday night at Feldman Arena. With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 10-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play, while the Warriors improved to 12-5 and 6-0.

    Men’s Basketball Cruises to 98-81 Victory Over Plymouth State DANBURY, CT – After falling to league foe Keene State on Wednesday, the Western Connecticut men’s basketball team rebounded with a 98-81 LEC victory over visiting Plymouth State on Saturday afternoon at Feldman Arena. Sophomore forward Rashard Rodriguez (Trumbull, CT) paced the Colonials with a game-high 25 points, while classmate Jauch Green (Hartford, CT) chipped in with 24 and a game-high four steals.

    Rashard Rodriguez Nets Game-High 26 Points as Men's Basketball Falls to Keene State, 92-77 DANBURY, CT - Sophomore forward Rashard Rodriguez (Trumbull, CT) netted a game-high 26 points but it was not enough as the Western Connecticut men's basketball team fell to visiting LEC foe Keene State, 92-77, on Wednesday night at Feldman Arena. With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 9-4 overall and 1-3 in league play, while the Owls improved to 10-4 and 3-1.

    Men’s Basketball Falls at UMass-Dartmouth, 90-77 DARTMOUTH, MA – Despite a game-high 28 points from junior guard Bobby Bynum (New Haven, CT), the Western Connecticut men’s basketball team fell at LEC opponent UMass-Dartmouth, 90-77, on Sunday evening. Sophomore forward Rashard Rodriguez (Trumbull, CT) chipped in with 19 points for the Colonials, who dropped to 9-3 overall and 1-2 in league play. Four players tallied double figures for the Corsairs who improved to 9-4 and 3-0.

    Men's Basketball Edges Mitchell, 80-75 DANBURY, CT - The Western men's basketball team improved to 9-2 overall with an 80-75 victory against visiting non-conference opponent Mitchell College on Wednesday night at Feldman Arena. Junior guard Bobby Bynum (New Haven, CT) poured in a game-high 20 points, while sophomore guard Aaron Samuel (Stratford, CT) added 19 to go along with 16 rebounds.

    Men’s Basketball Rallies to Upend TCNJ, 89-85 DANBURY, CT – The Western men’s basketball team erased a 13-point first half deficit to upend visiting non-league foe TCNJ, 89-85, Monday night at Feldman Arena. Sophomore forward Rashard Rodriguez (Trumbull, CT) paced the Colonials with a game-high 22 points, while senior forward Tre’Von Perry (Waterbury, CT) and sophomore guard Aaron Samuel (Stratford, CT) finished with 16 points apiece. Rookie guard Evan Curtin (Portland, CT) chipped in with 14 points, including four trifectas for Western, while junior Marcus Brown (New Haven, CT) and sophomore Elias Rodriguez (Bristol, CT) put together stellar efforts. Senior guard Eric Klacik (Basking Ridge, NJ) led the Lions with 20 points

Senior forward Tre'Von Perry added 19 points and six blocks, while sophomore forward Jauch Green chipped in with a double-double (18 points and 10 rebounds) for the Colonials - who improved to 7-2 overall.

    Men's Basketball Outlasts Southern Maine in Overtime, 102-98 GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Jauch Green (Hartford, Conn./Cromwell) scored six of his 19 points in the overtime period, including a pair of free throws to give his team the lead with 39 seconds remaining, to help the Western Connecticut State University Colonials to a 102-98 overtime win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference men’s basketball game Saturday afternoon at Fifield Court.

    Men’s Basketball Drops LEC Opener to UMass-Boston, 93-90 DANBURY, CT – After trailing by as many as 20 points in the first half, the Western Connecticut State University men’s basketball team rallied to take a three-point lead late in the second, however, UMass-Boston regained the advantage and escaped with a 93-90 victory in the Little East Conference opener for both teams on Saturday night at Feldman Arena. With the loss, Western had its four-game win streak snapped and fell to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in league play, while the Beacons improved to 4-2 and 1-0.

    Bynum Erupts for 33 Points to Guide Men's Hoops Past New Rochelle, 99-92 NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Junior guard Bobby Bynum (New Haven, CT) shot a scorching 78.5% from the field (11-for-14) to lead the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball team to a 99-92 non-conference win at The College of New Rochelle on Tuesday night. Despite leading by as much as 23 midway through the second half, the hosts cut the deficit to just one with 2:06 left on the clock, but the Colonials were able to hold off the surge. With the win, Western improved to 3-1 overall.

    Western Women Ranked Second, Men Sixth In Little East Conference Pre-Season Polls PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The Western Connecticut State University women's and men's basketball teams have been ranked second and sixth, respectively, in the 2016-17 Little East Conference Pre-Season Coaches Poll, released on Friday. The Colonials women open the season on Tuesday, November 15 when they play host to The Sage Colleges at 7 pm. The Western men open the season at the Dutch Burch Tip-Off Tournament at Lycoming College on Friday, November 18.

    Bob Campbell Retires, Hands Over The Reins To Jason Harlow DANBURY, CT - After 32 years at the helm of the Western Connecticut State University men's basketball program, Bob Campbell will retire on October 31. Jason Harlow, a former player and Assistant Coach for Campbell will take the reigns as an Interim Head Coach on November 1.
