    DANBURY, CT – Seven different players netted goals as the Western Connecticut State University women’s soccer team improved to 7-0 overall with a 7-0 non-league victory over visiting Old Westbury College (1-6 overall) on Thursday evening at The Westside Athletic Complex. Rookie goalkeeper Alexis Lainchbury (Hopewell Junction, NY) earned the shutout for the Colonials, marking her first career win.

    FITCHBURG, MA – Rookie Kimberly Brower (Mahopac, NY) took a feed from sophomore Morgan Matthews (Bethel, CT) and tallied the game-winning goal on a penalty corner as time expired in the first half to lead the WestConn field hockey team to a 1-0 victory at Little East Conference nemesis Fitchburg State on Tuesday night at Elliot Field. Rookie Neve Manion (Newington, CT) was stellar in net and earned the shutout win for the Colonials who improved to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in conference league play. The Falcons fell to 2-3 and 0-3.

The Colonials returned to action later in the day and fell to visiting non-league foe Kean University, 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-20). Kean would also down Southern Maine, 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-18).
